Max Giorgio Choa Minghella was born on September 16, 1985 in Hampstead London, England. He is the son of choreographer Carolyn Choa and the late Oscar-winning director Anthony Minghella.
Max was first drawn to acting in his later teen years after seeing the play production of This Is Our Youth at Londson’s West End. Max was enrolled University of College School in Hampstead but dropped out to purse an acting career and attended National Youth Theatre. Max also graduated from Columbia University in 2009 with a degree in history.
Max’s first professional film role was in the 2005 film “Bee Season”. Max received praise from critics and was named as a talented young actor to watch. Since then Max has appeared and starred in numerous films, including “The Social Network”, “Agora”, “The Ides of March”, “Not Safe for Work”, “Horns” and many more. View his full filmography here.
Max’s first TV appearance was on the show “The Mindy Project”. Max plays the recurring character Richie Castellano, the brother of a main character of the show. In 2017, Max was cast as Nick Blaine in Hulu’s dystopian show “The Handmaids Tale”
